Make your home into a museum with this stunning framed painting. Frame is Neoclassical in design and dates to the 1860s, with an incredible layered design and aged gold leafing.

The painterly detail in this piece and the bright acrylic colors give it a dreamy and newer feel, as most art with a frame this old would be faded and muted with age as well.

The painting depicts a garden in Monticello, IL that has been cared for and cultivated for over 100 years. Gardens are restorative, rejuvenating - let this piece give you new life whenever you see it.

Antique frames of this period are completely one of a kind, as each was custom-made for a specific painting. I have researched its age with one of the few resources that exists, the book “Antique American Frames”.

Named for the scene in “My Fair Lady” in which Audrey is described as looking as if she has spent her life “in a garden somewhere”.

Frame size: 16.5x20 inches. Painting size: approx 14x11.5. Painted in 2024 by Melanie Sartori. Acrylic on canvas panel. Signed.
